Alliance (pronounced ah-lee-AHN-say from the Brazilian origin) is one of the most prominent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu associations and the current defending World team champion. Alliance is 13x World Champions having won titles in 1998, 1999, 2008-2016, 2019, and 2022.

Founded in 1993 by Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel, and Alexandre Paiva, Alliance is recognized as one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Schools in the world; known not only for their technicality and quality but also for their professionalism. Alliance has made hundreds of World Champions with over 25 of them at the black belt level.

Head Instructor

Rodrigo Maciel

Born and raised in Sousa Paraiba Brazil, he started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008 originally for self defense. He quickly fell in love with the "gentle art" and found himself training daily as well as competing regularly. In 2019, Professor Rodrigo decided to move to the US and continue his training with Alliance Jiu Jitsu. He is now the head professor at Alliance Roswell and brings over 14 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo. Professor Rodrigo still competes regularly and makes sure that anyone competing from our academy is fully prepared.
